• The emollient phase of a sunscreen product can markedly affect its SPF. The choice of emollient strongly influences both the solubility and spreadability of the sunscreen agent and its ability to penetrate the skin. Crodamol AB is an excellent solvent for a lot of sunscreens (octyl methoxycinnamate and crystalline sunscreens, such as benzophenone-3 and butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane and others), which helps promote even application on the skin.
