Sempreviva

The small yellow flower was named after the Italian word, “sempre”, which always means the verb ‘s vivere, which means live, that is to say, a free translation of life forever. The Venetian conquerors have given this name to the small amaranth flower that looks dry and keeps its color for many years without water. In fact, what is preserved forever is not the tiny flower that withers, but the small yellow barn leaves that surround it.
