Organic alpha-Bisabolol, also known as levomenol, is a natural, colorless, viscous oil that is a key component of German chamomile and is also found in other plants like the tree Candeia (Eremanthus erythropappus).
→ Mechanism of action: Inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokines, reducing inflammation and irritation of the skin. It also prevents the breakdown of collagen, thereby preventing the skin from losing key structural proteins, keeping the skin firm. Organic alpha Bisabolol is very well absorbed after dermal exposure and formulators should be aware of Bisabolol’ s ability to increase the penetration of other cosmetic ingredients.
